Childbirth Mission Trips
As part of the 2008 Global Day of Prayer for Childbirth, your group is encouraged to support Childbirth Ministries around the world. The following two projects are being supported by Christian Midwives International for 2008, and are provided as recommended programs for your group to support.
Blessing God’s Way Ukraine Mission Trip
May 2008
TITUS International is a small mission agency in Chattanooga, TN with an outreach group in Kiev. Anne Sokol and her family have ask Blessing God’s Way to come to the Ukraine to speak to a variety of Church Groups as well as women, bible groups in the city for a week. All Blessing God’s Way materials and publications will be translated into their language before arriving there in May.
The women in Kiev will learn about Celebrating Pregnancy as well as topics including Erasing a Spirit of Fear, Trusting Birth and Serving One Another. During the weekend, at the end of the stay, Blessing God’s Way will present the curriculum called Maidens by His Design geared toward mothers and daughters; teaching them about their first cycle in life as a woman from a biblical perspective. Doran Richards, the founder of Blessing God’s Way, will be the speaker at all of these events accompanied by her dear husband of 15 years.

Birth in Central Africa
August 2008
Jennifer Vanderlaan of Birthing Naturally is working with Foundation in the Great Lakes Region of Africa to train volunteers as skilled birth attendants. Rwanda and Burundi are among the 10 countries of the world with the fewest midwives. The Democratic Republic of Congo ranks 5th worst in the world for infant mortality. Rwanda ranks 7th in the world for highest maternal mortality.
