I wanted to draw your attention to a few interesting bits of governance aimed at reducing maternal mortality.
Item 1: New York is expanding access to doulas by ensuring doulas are included in Medicaid. Check it out in the New York Times.
Item 2: Georgia is including funding to make group prenatal care (Centering Pregnancy) available throughout the state. Check it out in the Legislative wrap up at Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia.
Item 3: A bill has been introduced to the U.S. Senate to promote maternal mortality review committees. This is a great place to put some of your advocacy time, especially if you are in a state that does not currently have a maternal mortality review committee. Follow the bill at Senate.gov.
