Handouts to Use in Class

The following files are offered to you freely for use in childbirth education with your clients.

Understanding Your Body

This worksheet helps expectant mothers discern their needs in labor by making assessments of the way they handle pain and stress in every day life. It is helpful in starting discussions within the birth team regarding the best ways to support the mother.

Massage Techniques to Try

Some labor companions are shy to try massage in class because they are unsure of how to touch the mother. This handout lists a variety of ways a woman may like to be touched and massaged during labor.

Creative Revisions

This in class project focuses on how different places in labor will require the companions to respond differently. It is a sample of the Creative Revisions discussion starter explained on the Discussion Starter page.

Previous Birth Questionnaire

This worksheet helps mothers communicate how they would like to do things differently for the next labor.
